Whipton & Pinhoe 2 Sidmouth Town Res 3

Devon Senior Cup Saturday 23rd September 2017

In a home fixture, played away Town stumbled to their first victory of the season against their lower league opponents. In a scrappy game it wasn’t pretty but a youthful side stood up to a lively away outfit and will have learned a lot about men’s football, Jake Sellick deputising for the unavailable Adam Bartlett between the sticks was excellent, one particular save was the game winner in many people’s eyes. Aidy Parr tapped home after twenty minutes and the Vikings should’ve added to that strike but wasted opportunities were punished as Whipton scored twice in quick succession

Town drew level when Ben Miller levelled the tie before half time, late on in the second half Scott Hughes squared for Riki Pitter to grab the winner.

A good win but plenty to work on hopefully this will give the players confidence team spirit is slowly getting there as players return from festivals and holidays.

Home to Dawlish Saturday 30th 3pm KO is the next game.
