The young Vikings carried on their remarkable start to the season with what turned out to be a good point at home to a much-improved central side that the Vikings easily beat four one away from home earlier this season. Some early pressure from the home team saw the Vikings go into a lead down to an own goal from the central left back and a debut goal for new signing Simon Madge adding some good experience to the squad put the fourths two nil up in 10 minutes however they certainly didn’t have it their own way at all and were it not for an outstanding performance by stand in keeper Callum Wilkes Central could easily have been two up themselves if not more, but Sidmouth held on and managed to get the third goal from the in-form striker Ollie Turton to somehow see out the half three nil up which was somewhat against the run of play.
A quick goal from Central pegged the Vikings back but Turton scored again to make it four one with 30 minutes left. The young side battled but could not withstand the Central onslaught and in the end where lucky to come away with what must be seen as a good point, they still sit at the top of division eight nearly at the halfway point of the season. Real disappointment at the end for the young Vikings but they need to pick themselves up and move on to what now could be two of the most important games of the season back to back against Honiton.
