Sidmouth Town Reserves 2 – Chard Town Res 2

Macron D&E League Div1 Saturday 5th May 2018

The Vikings took a point from Saturdays encounter at Manstone Lane.

Falling behind after 20 minutes worse was to follow as Chard dominated the game and doubled the lead after half an hour.  Town looked a shadow of the side that has played some lovely football this season. Chard looked solid and were certainly a better side than their league position suggested. The Vikings were getting frustrated as the final pass was poor too often.

After an exchange of views at Half time Town upped their game but still needed a spark to lift their spirits, Scott Hughes was to be the catalyst for the upturn in fortunes as he rifled home a great through ball,  Town  were now  the dominant side, Joe Gosse then rifled in a shot cum cross that took a wicked deflection to level the tie. Town were then camped in the Chard half desperately trying to find a winner but came up just short.
