What looked like a fairly straight forward victory for Cully was anything but. The Vikings down to bare bones were comfortably the better side in the first half but entered the interval 2-1 down. A much-improved home side punished Town with two top corner finishes midway through the second half. Earlier Cullompton had taken the lead when a free header eluded Rob Gluchowski in the Vikings goal, Scott Hughes then replied turning his marker and smashing the ball in off the upright after ten minutes. For the rest of the half Town opened up the hosts defence with Ferenc Bodor causing problems on the left. Hughes went close again and Joe Miller was probing away on the opposite flank. Bodor himself hit the post and wasted another two good opportunities he would have normally taken. As it was those missed chances would come back to haunt the Vikings.
Not a good way to finish a productive season but undoubtedly the highlight was winning the Devon Senior Cup Final in April.
A nice touch as the minutes ticked away was seeing Joe, Ben, Jack and father Jon Miller all on the pitch playing at the end of the game.
