Sidmouth Town Res 3 – Alphington Res 3

Macron D&E League Div 1 Saturday 22nd September 2018

On a wet and miserable day this game was played out exactly like the weather, two poor sides who showed a lack of basic football skills throughout, after taking the lead through Callum Cross, Town were pegged back when stand in keeper Damien Armes was beaten at his near post. Jake Boyland and Aidy Parr scored to give the first half a lopsided look as they sought shelter from the relentless rain. The cushion disappeared as Town froze under the pressure making mistakes close to your goal just raises the opponents hope and two headed goals were conceded to compound the misery all round.

On a day when Colyton won 10-1 in the Premier Division the side that beat them in the Cup Final five months ago can only be glad that they have been promoted otherwise a cricket score would be the likely outcome.
