Sidmouth Town Res 9 – Heavitree Res 2

Macron D&E League Div 1 Saturday 29th September 2018

Town picked up their first three points of the season with a rampant performance at Manstone Lane, starting brightly and forcing a couple of early saves from the Heavitree keeper it was looking good for the home support. However, a dubious penalty awarded against the Vikings saw a 0-1 score line after ten minutes this lead to was doubled and the Vikings were clearly shaken. A strong team reply from the hosts saw Aidy Parr reply before Scott Hughes added two to give the Vikings a 3-2 lead after twenty-five minutes. Before the interval Jake Boyland thundered in a fourth and Hughes completed a first half hat trick to make it 5-2.

The second half was a one-way affair and Adam Bartlett in goal was a spectator, Hughes added another before Damien Armes beat the keeper with a deflected free kick, Parr added his second and Towns eighth before  Gerard Reinoso smashed in an unstoppable effort to round things off.

Pleasing to secure three points in what looks like a tough league this season.

Next week the Reserves host Chard Town Res 3 pm ko.
