Sidmouth Town Res 6 – Stoke Gabriel Res 1

Firewatch Devon Senior Cup Saturday 13th October 2018

Sidmouth cruised through to the next round of the Devon Senior Cup at Manstone on Saturday.

Taking the lead after five minutes through Scott Hughes, after Ferenc Bodor had supplied the cross, Town were dominating their young opponents. Stoke were comfortable on the ball and to their credit tried to play out from the back whenever possible. The Vikings seemed a little casual and were guilty of not killing the game off in the first half, Callum Cross added a second before Stoke scored with a fantastic free kick that arrowed into the top corner giving Rob Gluchowski no chance.

Half time a few changes were made in an effort to charge the side up and remove the lethargic attitude that had spread throughout the team, Bodor struck, Cross added his second, Damien Lee Armes header cannoned of a hapless defender to make it 5-1 before Aidy Parr slotted home to complete the scoring .

Tougher tests to come starting next Saturday with a trip to Hatherleigh
